Furniture Painting

The name "Live Art" comes from the inspiration that Ms. Koenig gets from her painting on furniture. She revives old pieces of furniture by painting with oil on them, which can be a tricky art. However, it is so rewarding to see an old cupboard come alive with fresh patterns or a dull table start telling stories over coffee.

Portrait Legacy

Her new passion is drawing portraits, which came from numerous requests. She realized that sometimes life stops for a person whom we think we knew. Oftentimes, there is very little known about those who are close to us. In the process of drawing a portrait, Ms. Koenig had a vision of how much the children and grandchildren would enjoy not only seeing the external beauty of their loved ones, but also their character and what made them near and dear. At the same time, parents always want to remember what their child was like at that special time when the portrait was made. 

Ms. Koenig has the talent of showing the intangible character traits in the portrait. Part of the process is writing a small piece of biography, that is less chronological, and more of a reminiscence of the little things that makes the person dear to us.
